You can submit sounds for one of our open projects using this form. You can also sign up for our mailing list to receive notifications about upcoming opportunities and new project calls.
Submission Guidelines
- As long as it suits the project to which you are submitting, your sound can take any form you wish: we welcome submissions of untreated field recordings, augmented or remixed sounds, musical pieces and sound art, as long as they are relevant to the project.
- Files should ideally be in .wav format (other formats are fine in a pinch), and recordings don’t necessarily need to be of professional quality. The goal is to make this project open and accessible. (see below for some beginner tips.)
- No copyright-restricted material should be audible in your recording.
- Note that some sounds on the site are licensed under a creative commons license and are available for you to reuse or remix. You can check the status of each piece by navigating to the individual track page on Bandcamp, where the files are hosted.
- Your sound will be considered licensed for use as part of this project, but will be credited to you and you will retain the original copyright. At the time of submission you will be given an option to reserve all rights or to choose a creative commons license. Either way, all files will be made available for free download on Bandcamp.
